Deep Imagery
Exploring your inner landscape.
Introduction to Deep Imagery
Imagine a journey where you can explore the depths of your unconscious mind, guided by wise animal companions. This is the essence of Deep Imagery, a powerful method of self-exploration developed by Dr. Stephen Gallegos, building on the foundational work of Carl Jung.
Deep Imagery offers a unique pathway to access your deep imagination and connect with inner guides, often appearing as animals, that help you explore aspects of yourself beyond your conscious awareness. Unlike guided imagery, where a facilitator leads you through predetermined scenarios, Deep Imagery allows you to chart your own course through your inner landscape.
The Deep Imagery experience
As you embark on a Deep Imagery session, you enter a state of deep relaxation. In this tranquil space, you’ll meet your inner guides. These wise beings might emerge from dreams, images, or specific situations in your life, but they always come from a place deeper than conscious thought. They’re here to help you explore various aspects of yourself, your relationships with others, and your connection to the world around you.
In my role as a deep imagery practitioner, I don’t guide the imagery itself. Instead, I’m here to support you in going deeper with your inner guides, helping you navigate this rich inner terrain.
Exploring Chakra Animals
One fascinating aspect of Deep Imagery work is the exploration of Chakra Animals. Over a series of sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and engage with animals associated with each of your chakras. Imagine convening a ‘council of animals,’ bringing these guides together for a profound dialogue about your energy and psyche. Each animal brings its unique wisdom, offering insights into different aspects of your being.
Facilitating Deep Healing
Deep Imagery can also facilitate profound healing. Your inner guides act as compassionate friends, gently leading you to parts of yourself that are seeking deeper understanding or to areas of unresolved emotion. This process of exploration can be deeply cathartic, allowing for emotional healing and personal growth in a safe, supportive environment.
Balancing the Four Ways of Knowing
Another powerful aspect of Deep Imagery is its ability to balance what Dr. Gallegos calls “The Four Ways of Knowing.” We experience the world through our senses, our imagery, our feelings, and our thoughts. For many of us, thinking often dominates, overshadowing the other ways of knowing. Through Deep Imagery, you can develop a more balanced approach to understanding yourself and the world around you. You might find yourself rediscovering the richness of sensory experience, the power of visualisation, or the depth of emotional knowing.
Benefits of Deep Imagery
The benefits of engaging in Deep Imagery work can be profound and far-reaching. As you gain deeper self-understanding and access your inner wisdom, you may find yourself achieving greater balance in your life. Many people report feeling more whole, more integrated, as they bring together different aspects of their psyche through this work.
Deep Imagery offers a path to experiencing life more fully, to healing old wounds, and to discovering new aspects of yourself. It’s a journey of self-discovery that can lead to personal transformation and a richer, more authentic way of being in the world.
