A Day in Nature: Time for You at Bluebell Wood

A day retreat

In a world full of constant demands, many of us long for space to breathe, reflect, and hear ourselves again. We don’t always need answers, but we do need time to listen.

If that feels true for you, you might be drawn to a quiet day of nature-based reflection with me at Bluebell Wood.

This is not a workshop or a group retreat. It’s a one-to-one day, a chance to step away from the busyness of life and spend time in nature with support, stillness, and space to reconnect with what matters most to you.

What the Day Involves

We begin around 10am with a relaxed conversation; time for you to share what’s on your mind and what you’re hoping the day might offer.

You’ll then spend a few hours alone in the woodland. This is your time: no tasks, no pressure, just the chance to walk, sit, journal, notice, or simply be. Nature has a way of meeting us where we are.

Later in the day, we come back together to talk through what’s surfaced. Often, the time outdoors brings new perspectives, sometimes subtle, sometimes surprising. Our closing session is a space to reflect, gather insight, and gently shape whatever feels like the next step.

A Little More About Me

I’m Dr Denise, a psychologist, wilderness rites of passage guide, and someone who finds meaning in walking alongside people as they navigate change. My work weaves together decades of coaching and psychology with a growing practice of wilderness-based reflection and rites of passage.

Bluebell Wood is my place of retreat too. It’s where I come when I need to re-centre. I’d love to share it with you.

Practical Details

  • Who it’s for: Anyone at a threshold; feeling the pull to pause, reflect, or explore what’s next.
  • Where: Bluebell Wood, Gloucestershire
  • When: Dates by arrangement. Spring is particularly beautiful when the bluebells are in bloom.
  • Extras: You’ll have access to simple comforts: hammocks, tarps, hot drinks, and quiet spaces to settle.
  • What to bring: Comfortable clothes, a packed lunch, and a sense of curiosity.

If this speaks to something in you, I’d be happy to have a conversation about whether the day might be right for you. Just get in touch.

Sometimes, one quiet day can shift something important.
