Hi, it’s Dr. Denise Taylor and I’m on my bench at the wood, and it’s so nice being here. The blue bells are now dying off and everything is green. There is so much grass around. The leaves are out. There’s all this growth, but it’s the green. I just love being in nature. The birds are singing.
There’s a gentle breeze. It’s such a good day to be alive. And sometimes life brings us down.
You know, there’s things that are not going right in our lives, and it might be things to do with our job, our relationships, could be to do with the lack of money, could be to do with other pressures that are going on.
Maybe we’re just absorbing, all this negative stuff that’s going on in the world. And it’s so easy to get caught up in the things that are bringing us down.
What I find works for me is, down here in the wood, time to just listen to nature and to gently, slow down into the pace of the natural world.
I don’t know what’s going on in your life. You don’t know what’s going on in mine, but we have things that can get on top of us.
It’s so easy to be at home and just to let thoughts absorb us and take over and just focus on all the things that are not going right and all the wondering about what we did or didn’t do and what we could or couldn’t do.
There’s just so much stuff, so many things that can impact on what’s going on in our life.
I know a lot of people talk about being in the present and I think right now, in this moment, any of the other things that I’m thinking about in my life, I can leave to one side, because it’s not important.
What’s important to me right now is looking ahead and seeing the leaves gently move, and to listen to the birds and a Muntjac ran in front of me just as I was coming to sit on this bench. Cute little thing really, although not everybody likes them. So that’s our message for today.
Sometimes things can get on top of us. Sometimes we can overthink. Sometimes we can worry about what’s been or hasn’t been, and sometimes we just need to let it all go.
And just focus on how life is just right now.
Everything else hopefully feels better after taking some time out.
You may not have a private wood that you can go to, but what you will have is some nature nearby. It may be your garden, it might be a park, it might be a tree on your way. Itβs really useful just to get some time out in nature.
So, I hope this has been helpful for you, and until next time, it’s Dr. Denise. Take care. Bye-bye.
